Cape Girardeau women suffer moderate injuries in car crash

Two Cape Girardeau women were injured as the vehicle one of them was driving ran off the roadway into a ditch, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash reports Web site. The 1997 Hyundai driven by Shayna L. Hency, 18, was totaled.

Hency and the other passenger in her vehicle were traveling west bound on County Road 638 2 miles north of Cape Girardeau when Hency failed to negotiate the curve and ran off the road at around 7:30 a.m. Thursday. The two women were taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center, where they were treated for moderate injuries.
