A Cape Girardeau woman has been charged with property damage and resisting arrest after a Monday afternoon incident involving a school bus.
According to Darin Hickey, spokesman for the Cape Girardeau Police Department, about 3:30 p.m. a school bus stopped at a residence in the 1900 block of College Street. Kinyinna R. Stevenson, 35, became aggravated and left to retrieve pruning shears from her garage. Police believe Stevenson returned and began hitting the bus with the pruning shears and broke one of the bus's windows, Hickey said.
Hickey said Stevenson also fought with police officers who arrived at the scene. Stevenson has been charged with property damage and with resisting arrest and is being held in the Cape Girardeau County Jail on a $5,000 surety bond.
