The Cape Girardeau Police Department responded to the scene of a three-vehicle accident Thursday morning involving a school bus.

The Cape Girardeau Police Department responded to the scene of a three-vehicle accident Thursday morning involving a school bus.

Sgt. Jason Selzer said the bus from the Cape Girardeau School District had stopped on William Street near where it turns into Route K, and a car stopped behind it. A truck following the car did not stop, hitting the car and sending it into the back of the bus.

No one on the bus or the truck was injured, but two people in the car were taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

He said there were three students on the bus at the time of the accident, around 6:30 a.m.
