The library will be closed March 9 for staff development day.
A genealogy database workshop for those interested in family research will be held at 2 p.m. March 10. The workshop will introduce search techniques, including those for female family members. Focus will be on ancestry.com, Heritage quest Online and information that may be obtained from the Missouri Secretary of State's office. Free. Registration not required.
Michael Lund, creator of the Route 66 novel series, will present an author/book signing program sponsored by the Friends of the Cape Girardeau Public Library Foundation at 2 p.m. March 13. Books will be available for sale. Profits go toward Friends of the Cape Girardeau Public Library Foundation projects.
