March Cape Girardeau Public Library Adult Services Department has scheduled these activities in March:n The library will be closed March 7 for a staff development day.

  • Dianne Moran, historic re-enactor and folklorist, will present "Zerelda James, Mother of Frank and Jesse James" at 2 p.m. March 9 as part of the library's celebration of Women's History Month. Moran has previously visited the library as Sacagawea and Mary Chestnutt. Held in the library's meeting area. No registration required.
  • "Building Fairy and Leprecaun Houses," a craft program, will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. March 15. Sign-ups begin March 1. There is no charge, but participants may contribute items to share. For item suggestions, call 334-5279. Registration required as space is limited. Last day for registration is March 12.
  • The library will be closed March 23.
  • The Book Discussion Group will meet at 7 p.m. March 25 in the library meeting area. Title to be announced. Call 334-5279 for more information.
  • The deadline for the Adult Winter Reading Club book logs in order to qualify for prize drawings is 5 p.m. March 28. Weekly activities continue through the end of the program.
