Cape Girardeau police haven't been able to identify any suspects in the armed robbery Thursday at the KFC restaurant at 2101 William St.

"There are no new developments," patrolman Jason Selzer of the Cape Girardeau police said.

Two men entered the restaurant about 9:30 p.m. Thursday and took cash at gunpoint. Witnesses described one of the thieves as a black male in his mid-20s, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall and the other was younger, a black male in his teens, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall.

At the time of the robbery, the older suspect was wearing all black, including black gloves and a mask. The younger robber was wearing a royal blue jacket, white socks on his hands and carrying a black diaper bag.

Detectives have contacted law enforcement authorities in Sikeston, Mo., about a robbery at the KFC restaurant there, Selzer said, but it appears that the two robberies are not related.

Anyone with information about the robbery is being asked to call the police department at 335-6621 or CrimeStoppers at 332-0500.
