Cape Girardeau's city leaf collection program begins Monday.
The first zone includes all areas within the city limits west of Kingshighway. Collection in "Zone A" will continue through Nov. 18, but anyone living in the zone is urged to have their leaves on the curb in front of their home by Monday. Public works crews will vacuum up the leaves from the curb using a specialized truck.
Collection in other zones will follow, with the program ending Dec. 20.
Leaves can also be taken to a holding area on Third Street off of LaCruz, or residents cab purchase bags for composting from city hall, public works, Schnuck's or Food Giant.
