Public hearings set

• A hearing regarding the city's performance and execution of a Missouri Community Development Block Grant Program, and to close out all program activities relative to the Seabaugh Road Improvement Project, at 7:30 p.m., Aug. 4.
• A hearing on proposed 2008 rates for parks and recreation, general revenue, cemetery and band tax rates, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 18.
• A hearing on the proposed 2008 library tax rate, 7:30 p.m., Aug. 18.
• A hearing for Kerry and Linda Hoffman and Charles Glueck's request to rezone 1109 Kimbel Lane, from R-2 (single-family residential) district to O-1 (professional office) district, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 18.

Other actions

• Approved the semi-annual financial statement ending June 30, 2008.
• Accepted the $11,264.28 bid and approved the contract with Jokerst Inc. of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., for the Rotary Lake Recreation Trail and city hall parking lot sealing project.
• Approved the 2008 amendment to the redevelopment plan for the Interstate 55 Corridor Tax Increment Financing District; approved a redevelopment project for RPA2; and adopted tax increment financing with respect to RPA2.
• Approved the application for exemption for highway/rail crossings at East Main Street, East Adams Street and Old Cape Road, as requested by the Reorganized School District.
• Approved Gold Leaf Enterprises Inc.'s request for a taxicabs and other vehicles for hire license.
• Authorized the payment of $2,190 to Litz Brothers Inc. for the oversizing of North Oak Hill Road in Bent Creek Subdivision.
