Public hearings

* Held a public hearing regarding a petition for voluntary annexation from Norwald Inc. for 49.71 acres north of LaSalle Avenue to the east of the Southeast Missouri State University Technology Park.

Consent ordinances

* Approved an ordinance authorizing the acquisition of property crossing the Burlington-Northern Santa Fe railroad in two locations for a water transmission line to connect public water wells to the city's water treatment plants.

* Approved an ordinance establishing a speed limit of 45 miles per hour on LaSalle Avenue.

* Approved an ordinance placing stop signs at the intersections of LaSalle Avenue with Interstate 55 and Route W.

* Approved an ordinance designating LaSalle Avenue as a truck route.

* Approved an ordinance accepting a quitclaim deed from the United States, acting by and through the National Park Service, for federal surplus property known as May Greene Garden Park.

* Approved resolution authorizing the city manager to execute a $1.02 million agreement with Nip Kelley Equipment Co. Inc. for the Fountain Street Phase II Improvement Project. Reading and passage.

* Approved a resolution authorizing the city manager to execute a $1.9 million agreement with R. L. Persons Construction Inc. to construct a raw water transmission main from supply wells to Treatment Plant No. 1. Reading and passage.

* Approved resolution authorizing the city manager to execute a $6,620 contract with Display Sales Co. of Bloomington, Minn., to create banners for downtown Cape Girardeau. Reading and passage.

* Approved a resolution authorizing the city manager to execute a $40,000 contract for consulting services with Glatting, Jackson, Kercher and Anglin of Atlanta to create a citywide wayfinding and signage plan. Reading and passage.

Other

* Approved a motion accepting the improvements completed at the Cape Girardeau Jaycee Municipal Golf Course and authorizing final payment of $110,003.10 to Oliphant Golf Inc.
