Following the trend in the wholesale industrial distributing business, Cape Girardeau Winnelson Co., Walnut and Commercial streets, has added a showroom for its merchandise. The new showroom opened officially last week.

"The reason behind adding the showplace is to display our products so the user can see actual products in contrast to ordering them from a catalog," said owner Ken Enke. "We are wholesale only, but the showroom lets people see the products and order them through their building or plumbing contractors."

Winnelson worked with various manufacturers and suppliers to establish the 1,500 square foot display. "We have Aqua-Glass whirlpools and tub/shower units; American Standard whirlpools, kitchen sinks, lavatories, toilets and faucets; Delta studio line of faucets; Elkay stainless steel kitchen sinks and accessories, A.O. Smith water heaters; and other merchandise," Enke said.

Beverly Conway, a veteran employee of the company, is in charge of the showroom. It is open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and by appointment.

N.O. Nelson started the business about 40 years ago and the name was changed to Winnelson several years ago. The company distributes plumbing, heating and industrial goods.
