A Cape Girardeau County man who was stabbed at his residence Sunday has died from his injuries. Coroner John Clifton confirmed 37-year-old Walter Claar died at an area hospital around 11 p.m. Wednesday. Lt. David James, spokesman for the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Department, said he is unsure whether any charges will be filed against the person authorities believe stabbed Claar. Cape Girardeau County Prosecuting Attorney Morley Swingle said at the moment the incident looks like a case of self-defense but that it is too soon to tell. He said no charges are expected soon and that the case is still being investigated.
