While a proposed agreement on a public-private partnership for a Drury Southwest Inc. conference center and hotel is one of the largest issues at hand for the Cape Girardeau City Council on Monday, it also will have decisions to make on the annexation of several properties.
Two public hearings will be held to consider a proposed voluntary annexation of property on County Road 620 and Deer Creek Road, as well as property along County Road 618.
The council will vote on the annexations after the conclusion of the public hearings. These additions also require a council vote to extend the boundaries of Ward 4 to include the properties.
The property to be annexed on County Road 620 and Deer Creek Road is northwest of the Boutin Drive and Cape LaCroix Road intersection. With council approval, it will be zoned as a medium-density, multifamily residential district.
The property on County Road 618 is near the county road's intersection with Baldwin Drive and will be zoned as a single family suburban residential district.
