Cape Girardeau police are looking for a man who robbed Sally's Beauty Supply, 155 Siemers Drive, Suite 7, Sunday morning.

Sgt. Barry Hovis said Tuesday the robbery occurred about 11:07 a.m., when a man tied and gagged the employee in the store office before fleeing with beauty supplies and a bank bag with an undetermined amount of cash.

The employee told police that the suspect asked to see hair care items for his wife. The employee took the suspect to another area of the store and when turned away from the suspect he placed something hard and flat against her back and pushed her to the back of the store and into the office, Hovis said.

The suspect demanded cash and took the bank bag and products after tying the victim's hands behind her with wire, her feet with a cloth-like material and used an apron as a gag, Hovis said.

The victim managed to free herself and called police shortly after, Hovis said.

Hovis said witnesses told police they saw the man pacing outside before the incident. One witness told police he saw the suspect in a gold or tan midsize truck that was described as extremely dirty and loaded with items.

Hovis said anyone with information can call Southeast Missouri CrimeStoppers at 332-0500 or the police department at 335-6621.
