Cape Girardeau is on Delta Airline's map.
Delta's Web site is allowing visitors to book flights to Cincinnati, scheduled for November and beyond.
Bruce Loy, Cape Girardeau Regional Airport's manager, will have the latest details on commercial service -- which will use Delta contractor Big Sky Airlines -- at the city's airport authority board meeting, set for 5 p.m. today at The Drop Zone Airport Restaurant.
The new flights will start Nov. 18, Loy said. Delta lists the round-trip price from Cape Gir-ardeau to Cincinnati as $259, but Loy said lower introductory rates could be announced.
Advisory board members will also hear what Loy gleaned from the 2007 FAA Central Region Conference, held last week, which covered security, design and construction, environmental issues and federal funding.
While he expects Cape Girar-deau to receive "about the same as the previous three years" for essential air service, he said he was not sure about "the things that money will be able to fund," such as renovations.
In addition to the main renovation, Loy said some hangers need to be rehabilitated. Airport marketing is also on the agenda.
"Right now we're just doing some preliminary things, trying to work through advertising," Loy said, adding that details for a November event by Cape Girardeau's Chamber of Commerce are being finalized.
Members of the airport advisory board are William Dunn, Fred Eggley, Rick Hetzel, Gerry Keene, Dr. Kee Park, Robbie Rollins, Bo Shantz, J. Fred Waltz and Walter Wildman. Angie Wilder is the recording secretary.
