__What makes you the most qualified candidate for this position?:__

With my prior board experience, many members of the community and staff already know my commitment to the district, with academics as my main focus. Fortunate enough to have served on boards beside Moms, Dads,and Grandparents, some of my most insightful discussions were with a retired teacher and coach, because they always presented the employee point of view. You are one of seven,and have to be open and willing to listen and learn.

__What do you see as the opportunities and challenges in the district?:__

The administrative changes with the new superintendent and principal, are an opportunity for our school district to continue to move forward. Budget challenges and curriculum changes are always ongoing. The completion of the new FEMA safe room will be an incredible opportunity for our students with its various uses available.

__What are the factors on which you will base your decisions as a school board member?:__

I prefer to get a variety of opinions from students, teaching staff, parents and administrators. Many school board decisions are not easy ones to make. You have to be willing to research if needed, review your teachers and administrators recommendations--with everyone having the students best interest as the main focus/priority.
