Current Member of Oak Ridge School Board

WHAT'S THE BIGGEST NEED YOU HOPE TO ADDRESS IF ELECTED?

I am interested in the quality education students receive and in making decisions that are good for kids. We must strive to provide smaller class sizes that allow for more individual attention and allocate resources that focus on increased technology and improved reading skills.

I feel a main asset of the district is to provide excellent faculty that care about students and their performance. Until you actually spend time with these people you really don't realize what their job entails and the demands and expectations only continue to rise. We are grateful for the excellent faculty and staff members Oak Ridge has had all these years.

WHY ARE YOU THE BEST CANDIDATE?

I have served on the Oak Ridge-VI school board for 6 years, currently serving as the Board Treasurer. A member of the Missouri School Boards Association (MSBA) having 52 credit training hours of continued school board education. The community should be very proud of their school. The school is a reflection of the community and the more we put into it as graduates, parents and patrons, the better it will be. Our school is a place where our children can grow and receive a quality education. I want to share in this responsibility. Serving on the Board is a great way to serve our community. It is a worthwhile cause and is very rewarding.

I appreciate your vote on April 2 and will make every effort that the school continues to put the kids first - whether it be with books, technology, dual credit courses or the safety of the children.
