CANCER GALA PLANS UNDER WAY

Plans are under way for the annual Cape Cancer Society Gala fundraiser. This event raises the largest amount of funds for the local cancer society. The money is used for patient assistance, education and cancer research.

The theme of this year's gala is "Rollin' Down the River." It will be held Feb. 29 at the A.C. Brase Arena Building, and will feature a gambling boat atmosphere. The E.L.S. from New Orleans will provide dancing, gaming tables, auctions, dining and a split pot chance ticket drawing for five cash winners.

Chairmen of this year's event are Andy and Jeanette Juden.

Members of the planning committee include: Bekki Cook, Cathy Schmidt, Dr. Don Dennington, Kim Schwartz, J. Fred Waltz, Leland Shivelbine, Dr. Joseph and Angie Tygett, Bill Boswell, and Dr. Sue Sheets.
