CABLE'S EVENTS NOTICES TEMPORARILY OFF
An equipment breakdown at TCI Cablevision temporarily stopped display of community events on the public access channel, but the messages will return. Roger Harms, TCI's manager, said the character generator that put messages on channel 5 is old and had to be sent off for repairs. TCI is running C-SPAN on channel 5 to prevent a blank screen. C-SPAN also runs on channel 20.
City council meetings, church services and other events will be broadcast on channel 5 as usual.
