B&L Coins and Collectibles was apparently hit by thieves for the third time in less than a year when someone broke in and stole jewelry from the business early Sunday morning.
Cape Girardeau Police spokesman Darin Hickey said police responded to the store at 85 S. Plaza Way around 6:15 a.m. Sunday for an alarm sounding and upon arriving found a damaged front door.
The store's owner told police that jewelry was taken but an inventory survey would have to be completed before the actual items and amount taken could be determined.
A theft of coins was reported at the store in mid-February. An overnight burglary Sept. 23 also resulted in a large amount of jewelry being stolen.
