Scott County Circuit Court issued an arrest warrant Wednesday for a burglary suspect accused of making calls from a phone at the victims' residence.
Casey Dwayne Burton, 26, of Bonne Terre, Missouri, is charged with burglary, felony theft and theft of a firearm.
Sikeston Department of Public Safety detective Keith Lawson contacted victims in the 400 block of Louise Drive in Sikeston, who said someone broke in between 9 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. Oct. 6. One of the victims came home to find items strewn about the house. They found a generator, nine pieces of jewelry, two handguns, a stun gun and a jar of change estimated to be worth $4,930 were stolen.
On Oct. 14, Lawson said he received information about a telephone number on the victims' home phone when outgoing calls were made during the time of the burglary.
The number belonged to a man who said Burton asked for a ride, Lawson reported. The man told police he knew Burton was committing a burglary and did not help him.
