KENNETT, Mo. -- The Kennett Fire Department responded to an early morning fire today at the Kennett Oil Mill, located on Independence Avenue.
At approximately 12:11 a.m., Kennett police dispatched the fire department to the mill, where there was reported to be smoke.
Upon arrival, the fire department found a large metal building engulfed in flames. The building was a storage area for old cotton lint and seed.
Though the building sustained a large amount of damage to the walls, the fire department was able to extinguish the fire and keep it from spreading to any other area of the mill.
