An eight-week building campaign for Maple United Methodist Church, Jean Ann and Cape Rock Drive, will culminate with a churchwide event Sunday at Drury Lodge.
Activities will begin with breakfast at 9:30 a.m., worship service and celebration with a video featuring church members and history, and members offering pledges for the campaign. Theme of the campaign is "Building for the Future."
Architect Tom Holshouser explained Phase I will include a nursery, two class/meeting rooms, minister's study, lobby, church office, and new parking lot. Phase II will be a new sanctuary with education area below, and the current structure will become the activities building.
The building expansion is expected to start in early 1997, at an estimated cost of $221,413.
The Rev. Larry Gallamore of Grace United Methodist Church has served as adviser to the Maple congregation during the campaign.
