A New Orleans jazz and blues ensemble called the RKO Radio Hot Jazz Band will perform tonight and Saturday night at Broussard's.
The six-piece St. Louis outfit consists of trumpet, trombone, clarinet and saxophone, tuba, drums and piano. Its repertoire ranges from "Sweet Georgia Brown" to "Stormy Monday."
"We try to stay true to the river," says trumpet player Larry "Stoopsie" Stoops, who does an imitation of Louis Armstrong.
The band, which wears 1930s-style clothes, has been together since 1986. They play Soulard nightclubs, restaurants and company picnics.
