MoDOT to repair Route C Monday

Route C in Perry County will be closed Monday while MoDOT crews replace a drainage pipe beneath the road. The repairs will be made in the northbound lane a quarter-mile north of Route E. Weather permitting, the work will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call MoDOT at 888-275-6636.

Mizzou invites alumni to 169th birthday party

Alumni are invited to celebrate the University of Missouri's 169th birthday at 6 p.m. Feb. 18 at Jimmi's Restaurant, 2406 William St. in Cape Girardeau. Jim Spain, the vice provost for undergraduate studies and an associate professor, will speak. The cost is discounted for alumni association members. Cake, Tiger Stripe ice cream and heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served. The event is sponsored by the Southeast Missouri Black & Gold Alumni Chapter and will feature Tiger trivia, a silent auction and a cash bar.
