Scott City parade date moved to Dec. 1

The Scott City Christmas parade has been moved to 5 p.m. Dec. 1. Originally scheduled for Dec. 2, the date was moved to avoid conflict with Cape Girardeau's Parade of Lights, which was rained out Sunday and pushed back a week.

Drivers warned of work on I-55, Route C

MoDOT will reduce two stretches of Interstate 55 in Cape Girardeau County to one lane this week and close a section of Route C in Bollinger County today. All work zones will be marked with signs and motorists are urged to used caution when traveling in these areas. For more information, call 888-275-6636.

  • Northbound I-55 from Route M to Route AB will be reduced to one lane with a width restriction of 16 feet from today through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, to replace a guardrail. Another stretch of I-55 in Cape Girardeau County, from two miles south of Route KK to the Route KK junction, will also be reduced to one lane northbound with a width restriction of 12 feet as crews make concrete repairs starting at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday and ending about 4 p.m. Friday.
  • Route C in Bollinger County from County Road 614 to Route V will be closed today from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. while crews replace a drainage pipe beneath the roadway.
