COLUMBIA, Mo. -- One month after he was arrested, state Sen. Chuck Graham of Columbia has been charged with driving while intoxicated. Prosecutors lodged the charge Wednesday, and Graham's attorney filed a motion to move the case to Callaway County. DWI is a class B misdemeanor and punishable by up to six months in jail. The Columbia Democrat was arrested Oct. 20 after a minor accident near his home. Police said Graham's car rear-ended another vehicle, which then hit a third vehicle. Officers said Graham initially denied drinking alcohol and then said he'd had a "few drinks" over the last two hours and later said he'd had two beers. Six witnesses told police they had seen Graham intoxicated.

Marble Hill Man arrested for sexual assault

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- A Marble Hill man was arrested Tuesday and charged with three counts of sexual assault, according to a story in The Banner Press. Rocky A. Park, 52, is being held in the Bollinger County Jail on $25,000 cash-only bond and will be arraigned Wednesday. The complaint was made against Park on Tuesday afternoon, and two deputies questioned him at the Bollinger County Sheriff's Department that evening. According to the probable-cause statement filed by one of the deputies, Park admitted he has hepatitis C, although he said he did not know he could expose the victim to the disease. "This crime was made more serious by Mr. Park's known medical condition," said Bollinger County chief deputy Leo McElrath. Bollinger County Prosecuting Attorney Stephen Gray said each count against Park carries a maximum penalty of seven years if he is found guilty.
