Parenting classes begin Tuesday in Jackson
Parenting classes will begin Tuesday at North Elementary in Jackson. The four-week class will run from 5 to 7 p.m. and is open to all parents in the district. The first session will be on family strengths and the last on nutrition. Parents can choose the topic for the middle two sessions. Classes will be led by the social work department.
Roads to be reduced to one lane Monday
The Missouri Department of Transportation will be performing road work Monday on two area highways, reducing traffic on each to one lane. Crews will be patching Route 74 in Cape Girardeau County a half-mile west of U.S. 61 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the department announced. The other work will take place in Bollinger County on Route 51 three miles north of the Route 72 junction. Crews will be doing ditch work from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Jackson Shoe Factory holding reunion today
A reunion is being held for all former employees of the Jackson Shoe Factory at 11 a.m. today at Delmonico's Restaurant in Jackson. Dutch treat.
