SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an open-house community briefing to discuss upcoming Safe & Sound bridge improvement projects in Stoddard County. The briefing will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Feb. 10 in the Bearcat Event Center at Dexter High School. Eight Stoddard County bridges are scheduled for replacement in 2011:n Highway 91 Little River
* Little River Drainage District Ditch No. 11
* Route BB Castor River
* U.S. 60 E Lick Creek
* U.S. 60 E Drainage Ditch
* U.S. 60 W CC District 7 Lateral Ditch No. 2
* U.S. 60 W UP Railroad
* U.S. 60 W Little River Drainage District No. 37
Work on some of these bridges could begin as early as March. Once the remaining eight projects have been completed, Safe & Sound will have improved 25 Stoddard County bridges.
