BERNIE, Mo. -- A Gideon, Mo., man posted bond and was released Monday night after being charged by Bernie police with sex crimes dating back seven years ago. According to Bernie police, Brandon D. Maddox, 35, was arrested on suspicion of sex crimes stemming from incidents that allegedly occurred in 2004 over a period of about two months. He is scheduled to be arraigned today in a Bloomfield, Mo., courtroom. In a news release, Bernie police said Maddox was interviewed Monday after the two alleged victims, both from Bernie, came forward with details regarding abuse they say took place when they were minors. Maddox lived in Bernie, police said, at the time of the alleged crimes. Maddox is charged with two counts of sexual misconduct involving a child and furnishing pornographic material to minors. He was transported to the Stoddard County Jail late Monday, where he posted 10 percent of a $20,000 bond and was released.
