Charity Projects Entertainment Fund teamed up with FOX and "American Idol" last year to present a two-night special and raised enough funds to support the grant. This year the special, titled "Idol Gives Back," will air April 9 on FOX.

The grant is through the food bank's membership to America's Second Harvest-The Nation's Food Bank Network.

America's Second Harvest provides food and groceries to over 25 million Americans annually.
