Bollinger County subject of routine audit

State Auditor Tom Schweich has started an audit of Bollinger County, according to a news release from his office.

The audit is routine, and wasn't prompted by complaints or allegations of wrongdoing, said Schweich spokesman Spence Jackson, and will focus on calendar year 2012, though other years' finances might be examined if needed.

The county's most recent audit was started in 2007 and the report was released in 2008.
