SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. An attempted kidnapping in Bollinger County on Sunday was simply a custody dispute between a separated husband and wife, according to Sheriff Leo McElrath. The suspects, three women in a black truck, have been located. McElrath said the incident happened on Route KK, near Sedgewickville. The father of the 2-year-old toddler told deputies the mother and two of her friends attempted to take the child at gunpoint. McElrath said the father made a false report and that there was no gun. They are married and getting ready to be separated. There was no gun; that was all made up for dramatics, McElrath said. Charges have not been filed against the father, and the names of those involved have not been released.
