Bollinger County Sheriff's officers Thursday arrested Collin Michale James, 27, of Gipsy, Missouri, on suspicion of failing to register as a sex offender.
James had been living in a camper in Gipsy for about a month and a half, he told Bollinger County sheriff's deputy Lawrence Atlas.
James said he did not have a ride to the sheriff's office, which is why he did not register. James met officers outside of the property with a shotgun, but he obeyed their requests to drop the weapon and get on his knees, Atlas wrote in his report.
James was convicted of child molestation Dec. 9, 2013, in Carter County Circuit Court.
