All areas of Alexander and Union counties and Pulaski County north of Ullin served by Southwater are under a boil-water order until further notice, according to plant operator Ricky McGovern.
McGovern said the order stemmed from a water main break that occurred about 1:40 p.m. Wednesday.
Repairs were expected to be completed Wednesday night. The boil order will remain in place until a sample of the water can be tested.
The test takes more than 24 hours to complete and results aren't expected until Friday afternoon, McGovern said.
