BODY OF MISSING MAN FOUND

MALDEN, Mo. -- The body of a Sikeston man missing since Wednesday was found Sunday just east of Malden on Highway 62.

A search for Wille Walton, 87, began at approximately 4 p.m. Friday after his abandoned vehicle was found by Malden police. Walton's body was discovered at noon Sunday.

A New Madrid County Sheriff's Department spokesman said Walton had suffered from Alzheimer's disease but that the exact cause of his death had not yet been determined.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol and law enforcement agencies in Scott, Dunklin and Stoddard counties also participated in the search.
