Carl Penzel will serve as treasurer of the committee and Steve Schneider will be campaign chairman, Bock said Tuesday.

Bock has had a farm near Gordonville for more than 34 years and has been involved in agriculture sales for more than 20 years.

Bock said the formation of his committee signals the start of an aggressive, grassroots campaign.

Bock said: "Over the next few years we need to focus on countywide economic development, cooperation between the county and our communities, long-range planning for our roads and bridges, and planning and zoning that is reasonable, fair and equitable. Most of all, we need to be open-minded, seek new ideas, and listen to what this county's people want and need."

Bock is challenging 1st District Commissioner Leonard F. Sander.
