CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Construction is under way on three new drive-up lanes at Boatmen's Bank's downtown facility, 100 Broadway.

Jim Limbaugh, president of Boatmen's Bank of Cape Girardeau, said the decision to add the new lanes is in response to the growing needs of the downtown area and customer convenience.

"The addition accents our commitment to the downtown area and our support of the progress this historic area of town has made in recent years," said Jim Limbaugh, president of Boatmen's Bank of Cape Girardeau. "Boatmen's plans to be a financial leader in this town for years to come, we think it is a responsible and progressive move to invest money in our facilities."

Susan Morton, manager of Boatmen's downtown facility added, "downtown customers and people that do business with the merchants are thrilled at the prospect of drive-up banking in this area."

In conjunction with the new drive-up lanes, the downtown location will also renovate the exterior and remodel the interior lobby area.

Boatmen's is one of only two banks remaining in the downtown area.
