BENTON, MO. -- Investigators are close to solving the shooting death of an Arkansas man which occured Tuesday afternoon, the Scott County sheriff said.
"We have a large amount of evidence, and believe that we'll be closing this soon," Sheriff Bill Ferrell said on Wednesday.
Sometime between noon and 1 p.m. Tuesday, Donald Prude of Blytheville, Ark., was shot several times as he sat in his car in Haywood City, Ferrell said.
Investigators have several suspects, the sheriff said.
An autopsy was being performed on the victim Wednesday at the Mineral Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington.
No further details were available, Ferrell said.
