BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- The gavel has been passed from one Donna to another. As of Monday night, Donna Medlin is officially no longer mayor of Bloomfield, and Mayor Pro Tem Donna Deardorff is, the Daily Statesman reported. Technically, Deardorff will continue to serve as Mayor Pro Tem until April, which would be the end of Medlin's mayoral term. "I will still fill the seat of South Ward alderman and have a vote as alderman," Deardorff explained. "But I will also hold any tie-breaking vote as mayor pro tem." Medlin had publicly announced her resignation as mayor of Bloomfield two weeks earlier. She cited health reasons as the primary issue for stepping down.
