Betty Lou and Don Vogel give homemade bread to their community

Betty Lou and her husband Don Vogel bake sourdough bread and cinnamon rolls every week for their friends and neighbors in Cape Girardeau.

After delivering cinnamon rolls and bread to Knaup Floral Inc. Betty Lou holds up an angel she gets from the shop that she uses while she and her husband sell houses. The angel has decoration for every season in the year.

"If I ever broke my rolling pin I wouldn't find another one to fit my hands." Betty Lou Vogel said about her rolling pin.

"We started out giving bread to people we work with when selling restate, then everyone wanted some." Betty Lou Vogel said. She and her husband bake together early Monday morning, Oct. 9, 2017 in Cape Girardeau.

After adding cinnamon and sugar with butter on the dough Betty Lou Vogel slices up individual rolls to be placed on a baking sheet to rise Monday, Oct. 9, 2017 in Cape Girardeau.

"It is just nice to give bread to people." Betty Lou said. She and her husband Don have been giving away bread for the last several years.
