Benton, Missouri, Mayor Joe Stuckey died suddenly Wednesday morning at a Subway restaurant. Stuckey was 68, according to a partial obituary from Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel of Benton.
Scott County Coroner Scott Amick could not be reached for comment Wednesday evening, but his brother, Mark, co-owner of the funeral home, confirmed the mayor's death, saying the coroner picked up the body earlier in the day.
Mark Amick did not know the cause of Stuckey's death and was unaware of any health problems the mayor might have had.
