BENTON -- A weekend of music and activities for all ages is planned as the 31st annual Benton Neighbor Day begins this Friday.
The celebration, sponsored by the Benton Chamber of Commerce, begins at 5 p.m. on Friday with the opening of a midway and chances to register for hundreds of dollars in prizes, to be given away Friday and Saturday.
Friday's activities include a Little Mister and Miss Neighbor Day contest and music by Night Shift starting at 9 p.m.
On Saturday a parade begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by an antique car show and an antique tractor pull.
Several competitions for children, including wheelbarrow and bicycle races, pie-eating and egg-throwing contests, will be held Saturday afternoon.
