Benco Industrial Equipment now open on Nash Road

A new location for Saint Charles, Missouri, company Benco Industrial Equipment is now open at 4014 Nash Road in Cape Girardeau.

Benco was founded in 2004, and handles sales, service and rentals of material-handling equipment, company president and founder Denis Benden said.

That includes forklifts, racking and warehouse shelving, he said.

�Because we service the southern Missouri and Southern Illinois markets, Cape Girardeau is an attractive spot,� Benden said. �The number of customers we can get to who are within a two-hour radius is another bonus.�

Benden said he also likes Cape Girardeau�s feel.

�It�s a wonderful town,� he said. �My daughter�s in school at Southeast Missouri State University, and we spent some time in town before we made the decision.�

The Saint Charles location has 17 employees, Benden said, and he hopes to have about 10 employees in Cape Girardeau within a year.

�It takes time to hire a good team,� he said.

Benco�s major product line is Hyundai Material Handling, according to a company news release, and Benden said he�s excited to offer the brand to people throughout this region of Missouri.

The company has come a long way from its beginnings in 2004 as a small-equipment rental company, operating out of a basement office and loaner warehouse space, Benden said.

�All of us at Benco have been through a lot together,� Benden said in the release. �The recession in 2008 hit the area�s industrial sector hard. Our employees accepted fewer hours and smaller paychecks so that no one had to be laid off. It�s that sort of commitment to each other that sets Benco apart as a company with a strong sense of loyalty and family. Our goal is to serve our customers with those same values in mind.�
