BELL NETWORK CENTER WILL LEAVE CAPE

The Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. Network Administration Center in Cape Girardeau is being consolidated with a similar office in Kirkwood.

Community relations manager Craig Felzien said one manager and six clerical people are affected by the change. He said the seven employees have been given the opportunity to follow their jobs.

The Network Administration Center's function is to monitor switching stations. Felzien said technological changes have allowed the function to be performed from the Kirkwood office.
