A man from Bell City, Missouri, is in custody facing drug charges.

Travis Johnson, 19, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said in a news release that officers conducted an investigation Wednesday after learning about illegal narcotics activity at a home near Vanduser, Missouri, in Scott County.

They spoke with Johnson and another resident, receiving permission to search the home. They discovered five smoking pipes with residue, an empty plastic baggie with residue and two metal spoons that had burned bottoms with residue. All of the items field tested positive for cocaine, the release stated.

Johnson was arrested and admitted all the items belonged to him and that he smoked crack cocaine. He was taken to the Scott County Jail, where he provided a urine sample that tested positive for cocaine.

Bond was set at $1,000 cash only.
