The web staff of the Southeast Missourian will offer two beginning Internet classes in January.
Registration is now under way.
The first class will be offered on Monday, Jan. 12 from 7-9 p.m. in Dempster Hall on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University. The university is a co-sponsor of the community training.
The class will be repeated on Jan. 21 from 1-3 p.m. at Southeast.
The class is geared to beginners who want to learn more about the Internet and World Wide Web. Practical surfing tips will be offered along with a number of handouts and a free gift.
Six staff members from SEMissourian.com, the official web site of the Southeast Missourian, will be on hand to direct students.
Each class is limited to 38 people, since each person has his/her own computer.
The cost of the class is $10, which must be paid in advance.
The web staff began offering the classes in last spring, and started again in August. Since that time, each class has been filled.
Future classes will be held on the second Monday and third Wednesday of each month.
To register, individuals should call Joni Adams or Peggy Scott at 335-6611.
