Tickets go on sale Wednesday for the first-ever "Battle of the Bad," an open boxing competition to be held at the Show Me Center.

Contestants must be 18 years or older and must pass a pre-fight physical. Pro boxers or amateur boxers who have competed in the previous eight years are ineligible.

The Battle of the Bad will take place May 15 and 16 beginning at 7 each night. Contestants will compete for $1,000 heavyweight and lightweight prizes. Winners will be determined through a process of elimination and will have the chance to compete in national Battle of the Bad competition.

Tickets are available at the Show Me Center box office or by calling 651-5000. Seats are $17, $12, $10 and $8. To sign up for the event, call Danny Campbell at 334-7151.
