WAPPAPELLO -- Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) biologists area concerned about the future of largemouth bass in Wappapello Lake.
A meeting will be held at the Wappapello Civic Center here at 7 p.m. Oct. 10 to discuss the bass fishery at the lake.
During the meeting, MDC biologists will present the current status of the bass fishery, and suggest some new and innovative harvest regulations to improve the bass population.
"We're really concerned about the predominance of small bass in the lake," said a spokesman of the MDC. "We want to explore some opportunities to increase the number of larger bass."
All persons who have a concern for the bass fishery at Wappapello are urged to attend and voice their opinions.
