BARBECUE CONTEST APPLICATIONS DUE
Applications for the 16th annual Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking contest are now available. The contest is set for May 20-22. The application must be received by Feb. 1. The purse this year is $25,000. Last year the award was $10,000. Two hundred teams are expected to participate. A "Patio Porkers" division of 40 teams allows competition among novice or small teams...

Also new this year is a sauce division and an "Anything But" contest, with judging for beef, grilled chicken, seafood and other meats.
