Mark London and Dennis Wessel, computer systems representatives for Professional Business Systems (PBS), recently attended a training seminar at Atlanta, Ga.
Instruction at the workshop, sponsored by TEC America, a cash-register and computer manufacturer, focused on computer-cash register systems.
PBS, headquartered in Cape Girardeau, has branch offices in St. Louis, and Marion, Ill.

Charles C. "Bud" Leming of Century 21 Ashland Realty has completed a course in fundamentals of commercial brokerage.
Realtors from Missouri, Ohio, MIchigan, Kansas, Indiana and Illinois participated in the three-day workshop held at St. Louis. Topics included real-estate marketing plans, listing procedures and various products handled.
Leming will be working with Herb Annis to expand sales and leases of commercial, industrial and multifamily property. He will also continue with residential properties for the firm.

Dr. James B. Chapman, a Cape Girardeau cardiologist, was the moderator of the St. Louis Regional Interventional Cardiology Conference held Thursday at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Louis.
The program topic was "New Frontiers in Coronary Atherectomy," with Dr. Matthew Selman of Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, Calif., as guest speaker.
Interventional cardiologists from eastern Missouri and western Illinois attended.
Chapman is associated with Cardiovascular Consultants of Cape Girardeau and is a member of the medical staff of St. Francis Medical Center and Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the American Medical Association, Missouri State Medical Association, Cape Girardeau County Area Medical Society and American Heart Association.

Victoria G. Holman, Southeast Missouri Hospital neuroscience-rehabilitation clinical nurse specialist, has attained certification in neuroscience.
To attain the national certifications, nurses must pass an exam that tests their knowledge in such areas as patient assessment, nursing diagnosis, patient problems, care planning and implementing care, patient evaluations and professional issues.
The test was administered by the American Board of Neuroscience Nursing in Chicago. The certification is effective for five years, at which time it may be renewed.
Prior to joining the staff at Southeast Missouri Hospital, Holman was rehabilitation clinical nurse specialist at Washoe Medical Center in Reno. At Southeast her responsibilities include consulting in the care of neurologically impaired patients, providing ongoing education in the care of neurological patients, and contributing to the research process.
Among her professional affiliations are membership in the Association of American Rehabilitation Nurses, the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses, and Sigma Theta Tau, international honor society of nursing.

Neuroscience patient care coordinator Gwen Maloney and Daniella King attended a neurosurgical trauma nursing seminar held in Chicago and presented by the National Center for Advanced Medical Education.
Victoria Holman, Malone and nurses Larry Vandergiff, David Voss, Mary Rozier, Theresa Glastetter and Gayla Adams participated in a "Cutting Edge in Neuroscience" seminar held in St. Louis.
Maloney, Lalita Toeniskoetter, Denise Miller, Mary Rozier, Karin Arnold, Leann Cunningham, Liz Dunkle, Kathy Martin, Annette Schabbing and Mary Carter attended a "Neuro Dynamics: A Clinical Approach" seminar held at St. Louis.
